Since 1999

The contest is "biennale" since 2004

Rimusicazioni Film Festival

The competition began in 1999 on an annual basis. It has been biannualized since 2004. The new edition restarts after the suspension caused by the pandemic emergency. The formula of recent years mainly includes two prizes awarded by two different juries. One by EXPERTS in the sector and one by AUTHORS, former remusic artists, who have participated in past editions of the competition. The two juries judge the contestants simultaneously and independently. I can then reward the contestants themselves. Each individual juror is required to judge the works independently and without first knowing the other jurors. The jurors collectively discuss who to award only after mathematically determining the super finalists of the competition.

LA COQUILLE AND THE CLARGYMAN - Empusae (BEL)

"A creative example of the fusion of music and sound which opens new possibilities for the art of film. A coherent construction of sounds which implies and proposes apparently opposing feelings such as drama and irony; a perfect fusion"

Jury Prize of Authors ex remusicators:

HAXAN -  Matti Bye (SVE)

“Matti Bye's soundtrack for the film "Häxan" stood out for the way it enhanced the content of the film's sequences to maximum effect, intimately complementing the theme, atmosphere and various elements in the scenes. The central musical theme, while remaining consistent, ranges between highly evocative free allusions and thematic uniformity in a bewitching flow of wide-ranging sequences, without ever losing expressive tension.”

HK18-2018

Expert Jury Award:

IMPATIENCE -  OoopopoooO (ITA)
"A well-structured project of image analysis through sounds with successful underlining of shot changes. A refined sound texture for a film that is difficult to interpret and not easy to use that adapts to the scenes without overwhelming them in the viewer's attention levels The music is always adequate to the image both in a dimension that tends to accompany it making it stand out, and in a dimension of subtraction and contrast."

Jury Prize of former remusic composers:

GHOST BEFORE BREAKFAST -  Diego Ratto (ITA)

"An original and brilliant re-music, which creates a parallel dimension to Hans Richter's bewildered sequences, while maintaining a meticulous and deeply thought-out adherence to the images.
Concrete sounds, sometimes misleading and sometimes more mimetic, alternate with other sounds of an electronic nature. Alarm clocks, cuckoo clocks, camera clicks become the sound equivalent of breaking plates, opening windows, rotating guns. All like in a false mirror."

Special mention of the artistic direction:

Steffen Wick (GER)

"For the high compositional value of his scores, capable of supporting the dynamics of the film sequences with skill, taste and effectiveness in a dimension of high artistic craftsmanship and in a context of live performance."
